The Importance of Voter Registration: A Seminar Recap



A program on Electoral registration awareness was held in seminar hall on 10.8.2024, in which the staff along with students participated. On the occasion the speakers from BDO office Pattan highlighted the importance of voter registration particularly for the students who have crossed 18 years of age and are eligible for registration as a voter.

Chief Administrative Officer of the college, Mr Adil Naqash also highlighted the importance of participation in the democratic process and advised the students to register themselves in the voter list by contacting BLO of their polling station. Alternatively they can also register online on the ECI website.




Today, On August 10, 2024, a pivotal seminar on electoral registration awareness was conducted in the seminar hall, witnessing active participation from both staff and students. The event served as a platform to underscore the criticality of voter registration, especially for the youth who have attained the age of eligibility.


The speakers from the BDO office in Pattan illuminated the gathering with insights into the voter registration process, emphasizing its significance for students over 18 years of age. The discourse revolved around the empowerment that comes with the right to vote and the role it plays in shaping the democratic fabric of the nation.


Mr. Adil Naqash, the esteemed Chief Administrative Officer of the college, took the stage to further reinforce the message. He highlighted the essence of participating in the democratic process, not just as a right, but as a duty of every citizen. His persuasive address called upon the students to take a proactive step by registering themselves in the voter list, guiding them towards the Block Level Officer (BLO) at their respective polling stations for assistance. For those inclined towards the convenience of technology, he pointed out the alternative of online registration through the Election Commission of India's (ECI) official website.


The seminar concluded with a resonant message: the act of voting is not merely a procedural formality but a powerful tool for change and progress. It is through such educational initiatives that the youth are galvanized to become informed and active participants in the democratic journey of their country.
