Srinagar School of Management(SSM)  established in 1988, was the first step towards privatization of technical education in J&K state. The management of this institute has a remarkable track record since inception in the field of technical education. Although the institute started as a Polytechnic housed in a rented building but due to visionary leadership only  a decade after it grew to an engineering college housed in  its own campus having large area of land on a lush green picturesque hillock  with a calm and serene eco-friendly environment near the famous 12th century historic city of Parihaspora  just 20 Kms. away from the capital city of Srinagar .Besides large institutional infrastructure the institute posses two large Hostels and huge it is fleet of buses and Light motor vehicles for convenience of students & staff.

The governing council   of the institute comprises of eminent educationists / administrators / technocrats, highly qualified professionals whose guidance is available to the institution. The Principal, HOD’s , faculties and staff have the responsibilities for both establishing and protecting the fundamental purpose, basic values and ethical principles which run the activities of our college. Future plans of the college are formulated taking into consideration the vision and mission of the institute.  In order to serve the humanity the institute is committed for creation and spread of knowledge in the fields of Engineering and Management. This commitment is translated into practice through our motto “EDUCATION PAR EXCELLENCE”. All the Departments of the college work together to promote a healthy competitive atmosphere among themselves and each one make every effort to accomplish excellence in their standards. The academic and administrative activities are properly planned and implemented in order to achieve the vision of the college.
