Srinagar School of Management(SSM) was established during 1988, which was the first step towards privatization of technical education in J&K state. The management of this institute has are markable track record since inception in the field of technical education.
A decade after its establishment this management established an engineering college with its own infrastructure. The institute is situated on a lush greenpicturesque hilltop with a calm and serene eco-friendly environment 20 kms.away from the city of Srinagar and is spread over 40 acres of land. The collegeowns fleet of buses for convenience of staff and students.
SSMD (School Of Fashion & Design) which is a new department in SSM has been established this year in academic collaboration with VIDM, New Delhi which is a leading institute of Design & Management and is rated amongst top fashion school in the world by HUES Republic.
SSMD is promoted by well-established SSM group of colleges (Estd.1988) which is a premier education provider equipped with state of the art technology enabled teaching methodology backed by a strong research focus curriculum. It is located in the picturesque residential green campus.

PATRICE DE PLACE
With a Master in Common Law and PoliticalSciences, Patrice de Place began his career with Dupont de Numours in theInternational Division based in Geneva. He was first of all in charge ofNorthern European markets and then carried out several assignments in LatinAmerica and in the USA. Later he worked for Christian Dior in Paris where hehad different responsibilities, one being Export Manager. He took part in thedevelopment of the European markets and the Gulf countries to introduce theBrand. During that period he spent most of his time in Saudia Arabia, Kuwait,the Emirates etc. He is then entrusted the responsibility of the Far East.Living in Tokyo he became Chief Representative Director for the Asia Pacificregion. It was also at this period that Dior was taken into the LVMH group.When LVMH took over Céline he became President of Céline Japan, then Presidentof Céline USA, and finally becoming General Managing Director for Céline SA.
He is a member of Shanghai Fashion ResearchCenter and of the UK Science and Humanities Research Council. He is also anAdvisor for the French Export Trade Ministry.Patrice de Place, as President of Mod’ArtAcademic Committee also lectures from time to time to Mod’Art Internationalstudents or it’s partner, London College of Fashion’s students.
He gives conferences on thediversification of Luxury products, the creation of a Luxury Brand, Licensingand Franchising Luxury products and distribution networks in Japan.VisitingFaculty
Ruchi has been associated with the ApparelIndustry from the past 15 years. Completed Garment Manufacturing Technologyfrom NIFT in the year 2000.Ruchi has been associated with brands like MiuMiu,Ralph Lauren, Zara, Tom Tailor, Marlboro Classics, CDC, Rene Derhy and manymore. Ruchi has extensively travelled to Paris, Germany and Denmark to keepabreast of changing trends and has liaised with international clients.
She joined the education industry in 2008with INIFD, Nagpur, and after 4 years became the HOD of the Design ManagementDepartment. She was awarded in Academic Excellence by INIFD Chandigarh. Whileworking with FDDI, Noida, as a Sr.Design Lecturer, she also completed herMasters in Fashion Technology from NIFT Delhi in 2013.
Her research on “Character Merchandise”-Scopeand Presence in the Indian Market, has been published in ISSUU, a DanishWebsite. Her research has also been approved by NIFT Delhi, as a potentialproposal for a PHD Award.
Rishab Manocha has in the past worked in thecapacity of a Course Leader of the BA Fashion Design Program at Pearl Instituteof Fashion, Jaipur, where he also took ‘Design’ subjects pertaining to theFashion Industry especially in the European and American Continents. In 2005Rishab graduated from the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art andDesign, London, with a BA(Hons) Degree specializing in Women’s wear.
In 2008 Rishab pursued a Post-graduateDiploma in Information Technology, from the British Institute of Technology andE-Commerce, London. He further gained vital industry experience of the BritishRetail Apparel MARKET for over 4 years working at Marks and Spencer (Per UnaDept.)and an export housed based in London. Simultaneously Mr. Manocha joinedthe British Council Social Services in providing art education to adults withlearning disabilities such as Autism and ADHD(Advanced Deficit HyperactiveDisorder).
