Electrical engineers are the backbone of every engineering activity. These activities range from generation of power, and down to the distribution level. Electrical Engineering has mainly accommodated two phases – power and communication.
Power engineers are mainly considered with power generation, transmission, distribution, design of equipment, electrical drives etc. while as communication engineers design, control and maintain instrumentation, control, data acquisition, metering etc.
The last two decades has given rise to new varieties of opportunities like solar photo-voltaic cells, energy efficient drives, wind conversion turbines etc. The electrical engineer works closely with all the other streams of engineering to address wide range of issues.
The Electrical engineering department is committed to deliver competent electrical engineers to work place. They are provided with technical knowledge as well as professional skills to face the challenges in upcoming future. The highly qualified faculty and staff are fully geared up towards this end.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOS)
Graduates of the Electrical Engineering program within a few years of graduation will:
(a) Use their broad knowledge of electrical engineering as a foundation for on-going learning and to have realized some success early in their professional careers and/or in the pursuit of graduate studies.
(b) Use their creative and critical reasoning skills to solve technical problems, ethically and responsibly, in service to society.
(c) Use their mathematical and scientific knowledge to solve emerging real-world problems related to power, electronics, control systems,image analysis, signal processing and communication systems, and will use their communication, organization and teamwork skills for the execution of complex technological solutions.
(d) Use their communication skills in bridging the divide between advanced technology and end users in the practice of electrical engineering.
Based on our program educational objectives, we expect our graduates to possess the following abilities abilities and properties:
