To provide thorough knowledge in Civil subjects including theoreticaland practical training for preparing physical models pertaining to Survey ,Computer Aided Building Drawing , Strength of Materials , Hydraulic Engineering, Communication Skills , Concrete and Highway Engineering ,Soil Mechanics,Environmental and Irrigation Engineering Drawing, Environmental Engineering ,Survey Camp, Computer Aided Design and Drafting etc.
Toprovide relevant engineering experience in designing and conducting experimentsas well as analyzing the significance of the experimental data.
To provide training in soft skills via English language, communication,verbal, logical, analytical, comprehension, team building, inter personalrelationship, group discussion etc for placement.
To inculcate the habit of lifelong learning for career developmentthrough successful completion of advanced degrees, professional developmentcourses, industrial training etc.

The Civil Engineering program is designed to develop knowledgeable and creative engineers with strong capabilities for innovation and management. Civil Engineering graduates have a wide variety of employment opportunities in both the private and public sectors in addition to becoming successful entrepreneurs. The Department of Civil Engineering of SSM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY is excellently suited to meet the ever changing requirements of engineers and the department ensures not only that the courses are updated at par with national level institutes but also that they reflect the current needs of commerce,industry and the society as a whole.
Started with an intake of 60 in 1998. Total intake increased from 60 to 120 seats 2008-2009. Total intake increased from 120 to 180 seats 2013-2014.
The Civil Engineering Department is set with well-equipped labs comprising of following:
